She had made her home at King City Manor for the last years. Leora was born on a farm in the Union Star, area on Dec. 25, 1911. She attended one-room rural schools and graduated from Union Star High School, the Class of 1929. She was married to William Burke Tunks in 1931.

Burke preceded her in death in November of 1951. She and her second husband, Marvin Blair were married in May of 1956. Marvin preceded her in death in June of 1993. After being raised as a farm girl, she began her lifetime career as an educator by teaching in several rural schools in the King City area, including Beggs and Dewey schools. During this time, she continued her education at Northwest Missouri State University and graduated in the early 1950s.

Following the school district consolidation, she taught at King City schools and continued as third grade teacher until her retirement in 1975. Besides her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Florence Foster; brothers, Delbert and Harley Foster; son, Phil Tunks; and grandson-in-law, Terry Duncan. Leora is survived by a sister, Ruby Coffman, Kansas City, sons, Dr. Donald Tunks, and wife, Alice "Lili," Mission Hills, and Franklin Blair, and wife, Jo; and Marion Blair, and wife, Linda, Venore, daughter-in-law, Kathy Tunks, Wilmington, N.C.; six grandchildren, Jeff Tunks, Diantha Blair Duncan, Dana Blair Gulick, Marina Tunks Ganter, John Tunks and Katy Blair Stewart; 11 greatgrandchildren; many cousins, LATE NOTICES at Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port. Memorials may be made in care of Gibson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 552, King City, 64463. Shirley J. Dreier 1921-2007 DEKALB, Mo. Shirley June (Williams) Dreier, 86, of DeKalb, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at a St.

Joseph -care center. She was born Feb. 27, 1921, in DeKalb and lived her life there. She was graduated from Benton High School and attended St. Joseph Junior College.

She was a member of the Bethel Ladies Aid Club, St. Patrick's Altar Society and St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She had taught at the Pleasant Valley one-room schoolhouse. She was also a homemaker and farm wife, and loved the farm life and outdoors, but most of all she loved and cherished her family and will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Dreier, in 2006; her parents, Charles and Elva Williams; and a sister, Mary Jo Sprague. Shirley is survived by a son, Bernerd Dreier, and wife, Karen of DeKalb; daughters, Mary Ann Klimko, and husband, Dennis of Lakewood, and Linda Mills of Santa Rosa, grandchildren, Tim Dreier, and Zach and Lisa Klimko; and a great-grandson, Dalton Dreier. The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Rupp Funeral Home, St. Joseph, with Pastor David Church officiating.

Lois M. Allen 1928-2007 Lois Marie (Hufker) Allen, 79, St. Joseph, died Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Saxton Riverside Care Center, St. Joseph. She was born Jan.

12, 1928, in St. Louis, Lois married Eldon Allen Sr. on April 1, 1946, at Troy, Kan. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1970. Her parents, William and Marie (Storman) Hufker; daughters, Debbie Allen, and an infant, Peggy Allen; grandson, Terry Allen; and great-granddaughter, Carissa Barron-Allen, also preceded Lois in death.

Winnielee (Miller) Ellison, 85, a resident of Dothan, formerly St. Joseph, died May 31, 2007. Mrs. Ellison was born in St. Joseph, the daughter of the late Marvin Miller and Lena (Blakeslee) Miller.

She was a graduate of Central High School. She lived in Indiana and Miami, before moving to Dothan in 1968. She was employed for six years at Headland Fabrication Co. as a secretary and office manager. Mrs.

Ellison also was preceded in death by a brother, Blake Miller. Surviving relatives include: a daughter, Sherry Lee Dochow Jones; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held June 3, in the Spiritual Enrichment Center in Dothan. Alice M. Livingston 1920-2007 INDEPENDENCE, Mo.

Alice May Livingston, 86, of Independence, formerly Cameron, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2007. Alice was born Dec. 1, 1920, to Melvin and Bernice (Carter) Williams in Ray County, Mo. She was graduated from Cameron High School in 1938 and married John Lewis Livingston on July 30, 1939. Upon his return from service in WWII, they moved to Olathe, where they were members of the First United Presbyterian Church.

Even though Alice was handicapped, she had a desire to serve others and worked as the coordinator for Meals-On-Wheels in Olathe for many years in the 1970s. She and husband, John also were members of the Clockwinders Optimist Club. The Livingstons moved to Independence in 1997 to be near their daughter and her family. In Independence, they were members of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ralph Williams; and her husband of 67 years, John. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl "Chere" Smith, and son-in-law, Anthony; grandsons, Adam Rogers and Collin Smith; sister, Imogene Broderick of Gower, along with many nieces and nephews. Thanks to Dr. Alcox for his compassionate care and to those of Crossroads Hospice, who made this "journey" more bearable. The funeral service will be 1 p.m.

She was a housewife and homemaker. in Dora Dean was a member of the DeKalb Christian Church for 65 years, led the "Time Out" music group presenting programs in many churches, was a 3. song leader in church for many years and had taught Sunday School class. She organized and prepared funeral dinners at the City.
