They once told me I was psychotic because I thought I had/was afraid of getting skin cancer. I had them check big red spot on my shoulder that wouldn't seem to go away.
I never went back except for a prescription for allergy medications.

Everyone I know seems to make fun of The Quack Shack, but I've never had a problem except for the long waits. I asked one of the doctors how many they had on staff after waiting 2+ hours and he said "3, but we need close to 12".

I was in a pretty bad car accident and they made me take a pregnancy test, even though I was a virgin, before they would prescribe pain meds because I couldn't remember when my last "time of month" was.
I went in another time because I twisted my ankle and they put me in a room with a bunch of exam table things with 2 other people... the "doctor" came in and got the history and said we were gonna go to another exam room and then go take x-rays, but he wanted to look at it first, so i should take my sneaker off. I told him that it'd prolly be a better idea to go wherever we're gonna go first because once I take my sneaker off the ankle is gonna explode and there's no way i'll be putting it back on or walking much of anywhere. Apparently years of sports injuries gives you more knowledge in this area than medical school does because he insisted on doing a preliminary exam. So yeah, I was right, and I swear you could see my ankle swelling while he putzed around.
Haven't been there since except to accompany an ill friend.

I went in for a fever and a cough. The doctor told me it was allergy/sinus related and I could just take some over the counter allergy medicine. I didn't have an infection that warranted antibiotics.
Within a week I couldn't move. My parents drove to CS and took me back home to Dallas where I saw my family doctor. Turns out, I had the full blown flu, strep throat, and a nice case bronchitis to top it off...I was out for two weeks.
I found a family doctor in CS as soon as I got back to school.

Last time I checked, antibiotics were worthless against the flu.

If you folks think you have it bad with the QC you should hear the tales of the medical science in the days before Beutel ,i.e., the old College Infirmary. In the 50s the one doctor was an Ag grad in Vet Medicine....who had converted that to an MD through a short course in the army in WWII. In 4 years I never saw the fellow or knew anyone who did. The person in charge was a Nurse Claghorn. She evaluated all incoming patients and her standard preconception was the problem was caused by being drunk or from being in a fight. The only medicine ever prescribed was some little red pills, regardless of the ailment. Not infrequently Sbisa would food poisen the Corps.....horror of all horrors was being pointed to the long line in the hall waiting to use the one bathroom at the end of the hall. The funniest tales were of the escapes from the infirmary to seek medical help.

First few weeks of school my fish year, I fell playing basketball - not a big deal, but later I took a nap in my dorm room and woke up with a splitting headache. I walked over to the QC and by the time I saw anybody I was delirious. I tried to call my sister and couldn't dial the number. I didn't hit my head when I fell, but they insisted on strapping my to a back board and took me by ambulance to St Joes. During the ride I had to throw up so they had to flip me and the board sideways so I could puke. I got $2000 worth of cat scans in the hospital and they decided I had the flu and was dehydrated so they gave me a flu shot and I was discharged.

outside of nearly killing me by completely missing a bacterial infection, I never had a problem with the place.

For the most part fairly good experiences. I was in there a lot.
One time comes to mind. During a Law Hall/Puryear water fight, my head met another guy's knee, split my head open. I head across the street and the get me back to the exam room/curtain, whatever. This big nurse comes back with a pan of iodine and starts rubbing and pulling on it, opening it up. She scrubs and scrubs, I am whincing. She get me all cleaned up and goes for the suture kit. The doctor comes in and takes a look. Of course he is opening it up, commenting on being able to see my skull. I am moaning a bit and he says, "Looks like we need to deaden it a bit more". Ummm, the nurse never deadened it in the first place. She was supposed to do that before she started cleaning it. 8 stitches...cool.
Got my money's worth...stitches, sprained ankle, separated shoulder and a few illnesses.

My experiences were ok.....the only time I went there was when I knew exactly what was wrong and I could tell what prescription I needed. I only went there when I had a sinus infection. If I needed something that might require a specialist, I'd go to their office instead.

i've only been in a few times for pansy things like the flu and coughing.
But Hydrocodone is good stuff when you take twice the recommended dose by accident!

I got stitches in my hand there when I broke a window. The scar (it was a pretty clean cut) looks like Harry Potter's. The worst job of stitching I ever saw.

I went in just before the summer sessions started (I was graduating in Aug.) because I broke my finger. I find out a few days later that I am blocked and can't register for my classes because of incomplete medical records. I check into it, and they can't read the fax from my high school saying I had my shots! I almost missed graduating because they couldn't read the records I had to have to even enroll in kindergarten! Luckily, I had some connections and they were able to enroll someone else in the class until I was unblocked. They dropped them and I got the spot.
